Steve Cutbush | President & Managing Director

Steve is one of the founding partners of Openwide International over 20 years ago and is a highly experienced leisure operator. He has extensive experience in Travel and Tourism, working both in the UK and internationally. Previous positions include General Manager Spain for Horizon Holidays, New Hotel Development manager for Thomson (TUI) Holidays and Commercial Director of Travelscene Holidays, Europe’s leading “short break” specialist.

Steve’s analytical and scientific approach to the design of visitor experience solutions for resorts and leisure complexes has been key to Openwide’s growth. Consultancy projects have included clients such as Disney, P&O Cruises, Virgin Group, Marriott Hotels, Sheraton Hotels (India) and the Royal Armouries UK and Frazier History Museum, Louisville USA.

Steve is also a sought after presenter/speaker and delivers training workshops for blue chip companies in communication skills, sales and customer service development.
Steve’s focus within Openwide alongside overall management is business development, sales and marketing.

Rory Holburn | Executive Vice President

Rory has spent the past 25 years working across all aspects of the visitor attractions and entertainment industry. Over a ten-year career with The Tussauds Group, based at Chessington World of Adventures, Rory was instrumental in the transformation of an old zoo into a major modern theme park attraction, and went on to work across all areas of theme park management as Director of Operations.

In 1998, Rory joined with a team of senior executives from the Disney parks organisation to develop the Leavesden Film Studios and devise plans for a 285-acre theme park and back lot studio tour.

Rory leads the day-to-day operations for Openwide and has been engaged as a consultant and adviser to many leisure attractions. Projects have included The Making of Harry Potter on behalf of Warner Bros, The Royal Armouries (The UK’s oldest museum) Spacetoons Cartoon Network- Jordan, Al Hoota Cave – Oman, and The Extreme Media Group.

An outdoor sports enthusiast, Rory and Steve combined forces to create Openwide’s new and unique adventure sports attraction brand, RockReef.  Opening the worlds first pier to beach zip-line and all weather indoor adventure attraction in September 2014.

Roy Yates | Executive Vice President – USA

Since 1999 Roy has been the Executive Vice President – USA for Openwide International, based in South Florida. Roy’s career in Travel and Tourism began in 1988 working for UK Tour Operator Thomson Holidays in the Balearic Islands (Summer) and Austria in the Winter.

In 1996 Roy joined the brand new Cruise Line Airtours Suncruises as Cruise Director, overseeing the Entertainment and Revenue Centers on board the ship. In 1999, Roy headed to terra firma to open the US for Openwide International.

Heading our Florida Office, Roy works with our cruise clients not only in the US but around the world to provide the highest quality of daytime and evening entertainment. Roy is also President of the British-American Chamber of Commerce for Broward and Palm Beach and also President of the Florida Liverpool Supporters Club.

He is also the only Member of the Senior Staff with a full head of hair!! Company Note – we are not convinced it’s real!

David Lock | Group Finance Manager

David has over 20 years experience working within the leisure industry in both the private and public
sector. He has been an active sports person throughout his life, competing to a high standard in swimming and participating in numerous other activities such as cycling, skiing, cricket and scuba diving.

Since graduating from Brunel University in 1995 with a BSc (Hons) degree in Leisure Management and Sports Science, David has worked his way up through the ranks to the position of General Manager, both in the UK and the Middle East. He has managed health clubs including the exclusive club at the Jeddah Hilton and clubs at LA Fitness in Salisbury and Southampton.

Alongside his managerial and business responsibilities David has achieved his Advanced Diploma in Accounting with the Association of Accounting Technicians and his Advanced Diploma in Management Accounts with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. With his first hand, comprehensive understanding of the leisure industry David is uniquely qualified to oversee the financial aspects of Openwide’s portfolio.

 

Sarah Hunter | Group Marketing Manager

Sarah is based on Bournemouth Pier in Dorset, home to Openwide’s first all weather multi-activity sports attraction ‘RockReef’. Her wealth of experience includes Marketing planning and implementation of strategies using a range of both traditional and digital communications to targeted audiences including individuals, groups, schools and businesses.

Sarah leads the Marketing for all the businesses on Bournemouth Pier and is currently managing the development of four new websites for Openwide; Bournemouth Pier, RockReef Activity Attraction, Key West Bar & Grill and Coffee Reef. These are all due for launch in Spring 2017.

Sarah has a passion for Marketing and represents the attractions sector on Bournemouth’s Tourism  Marketing Group (BTMG). The group meets regularly to oversee the strategic Marketing of the resort and work together to develop Marketing and PR campaigns.

Nigel Hogg MIPS | Head of Production Services & AV specialist

Nigel has over 30 years experience in the entertainment industry as an Audio-Visual and Sound Designer & Musical Director. He started his career with responsibility for music and technology at venues throughout the UK and provided production support to leading UK touring and producing companies including the Qdos and Paul Elliot organisations.

Nigel spent 12 years as Musical Director and Technical Consultant at Chessington World of Adventures where he developed, installed and maintained the park-wide PA and atmospheric music system, which has led to him specialising in technical provision for the attractions industry. Nigel is a full member of the Institute of Professional Sound and the Association of Sound Designers.

In his ‘spare time’ over the last 30 years he continues to support the legendary Ken Dodd as Musical
Director.
